Pair Me Up! Tuesday ~ Team Hector

Formerly known as Team Tuesday, Pair Me Up Tuesday follows the same terms as Team Tuesday. (Sorry for the lack of posting these posts!) I have recently finished one of new favorite fantasy series this year, The Girl of Fire and Thorns Trilogy. So, definitely I choose Lord Hector for Elisa more than ever! 

My heart belongs to Lord Hector because:

1. His honor as Captain of the Queen's Guard may be maddening when he can't put his feelings on the forefront but, he does have good intentions.

     Hector refers back to his honor to protecting Elisa many times when he knows that technically, he shouldn't have feelings for royalty. His honor blocks all his feelings from showing. But, what I respect about his honor is that, he shows that he cares too much to let his feelings guide him. Hector does his job well but, sometimes he needs to forget about that honor and just love (me) oops, I meant Elisa.

Psst... I'm the one who's rejected. 

2. When he loves, he loves hard.

        Hector has fallen for Elisa when he found her after she was kidnapped and from that moment on. No matter what Elisa saw with her insecurities about her body and other things, Hector overlooked that and still loved her for her. He's not the type to fall in love for some time and move on, NO, he's the type to love someone for as long as he lives.

3. He's the Captain of the Guard. 

      Ok, who doesn't ogle their eyes over the captain of the guard? Hector wouldn't be chosen to be the Captain if he didn't have these qualities: loyalty, honesty, physical-ability, fairness, etc. So far, I have my eyes for two characters that are captain of the guard in their books... I am slowly collecting more. *wink*

Team Tuesday ~ Team Evan

*Shouting* TEAM TUESDAY! TEAM TUESDAY IS HERE ONCE AGAIN! I can't contain my excitement for today. I've been reading The 5th Wave Trilogy by Rick Yancey and I am so on Team Evan. So... that means I will be ranting about Evan Walker of The 5th Wave.

My heart belongs to Evan because:

1. Even though he is assigned as a Silencer, he takes control of his humanity and listens to his heart.

     Evan doesn't think like his other kind and is on the side of the humans. While being in a human body for like 5 years, he has turned his humanity on. He develops a love for Cassie when all thought it was impossible. His heart is the true key as to how he becomes more human than other.

2. He keeps his promises no matter what happens.

      Even though the situation becomes bad or dangerous, he always keeps his promises to Cassie. He promises to come back to her when he says it. In a world where promises became the new currency, Evan fulfills it unless he did not say it. 

"I kept my promise," he whispered.

3. At times of seriousness, he always says something sweet to distract one from the real situation.

     Cassie always gets mad at when Evan does this but, she still thinks it's sweet. (I think so too!) He reveals something bad with something nice to say first about Cassie like about how he loves her, etc. He always drops some info that is crucial later on. The things he says are so sweet and loving, driving you to love his some more.

"That was his style, too: Every time I edged too close to something, he deflected by tell me how much he loved me or how I saved him or some other swoony, pseudo-profound observation about the nature of my magnificence. But I grabbed the pad and pen from the desk and handed them over because, at the end of the day, who minds getting a tender love poem?"

"He was nodding thoughtfully. "God, I've missed you." 

"There! There it is, right there! Just like the Walker homestead, just like Camp Ashpit, just like Vosch's death camp. Whenever I've got you cornered..."

Evan Walker has me on his team in The 5th Wave Trilogy by Rick Yancey. Although he does not reveal his secrets as fast as I want him to, he does rebound by saying something romantic. *Happy sigh once again.* (What am I doing to myself?)

Team Tuesday ~ {Team Cole}

Welcome twinklers to another Team Tuesday! Today, I will be ranting about the glorious, Cole Holland, of The White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter. If you haven't read the series yet, you better get on it fast because you will start liking Cole too! (But, just remember he was mine and Ms. Showalter's first! Just kidding, we know we all have to thank Ms. Showalter for our Cole!)

A piece (A big portion, I mean. But, still I have to share my bookish heart for everyone.) of my heart belongs to Cole because: 

1. As the leader of the Zombieslayers, he leads and cares for all his friends until the last zombie bites the dust. 

     Cole will equally fight for his team of friends/zombieslayers. He keeps everyone on check and leads all the missions that usually win. (His favorite thing is winning!) However, he is never the leader when it comes to his relationship with Ali because he knows that she rules his heart!

2. He respects all of Ali's decisions and choices. As well, he sees her as a strong woman who doesn't need a man to save her.

      Although Cole does give in when the situation comes to Ali's sake, he does respect and admire her in many ways. He knows that she can take care of herself because she is headstrong and stubborn. Also, he respects the decisions that Ali makes unless it's not life threatening (Which she does a lot of those.). 

3. He uses a crossbow. I think enough is said.

      Cole's weapon is a crossbow. Who is not attracted to people who knows how to use a bow and arrow? I imagine Cole looking all kick-butt and one with using his weapon when killing zombies. Can you blame me?

*Totally unrelated but, I love Daryl from The Walking Dead too!*

Cole is one of those characters that just warms your bookish heart just makes you swoon at every action he does in the book. Where can I find a Cole in my life?

Team Tuesday ~ {Team Maxon}

Hi twinklers! I am introducing a new post I am going be blogging about on Tuesdays and it is called, "Team Tuesday". On Team Tuesday, I will rant about which team I side on in love triangles or just which person I think the main character should be with! Or who is just my favorite character is in a book! (Also, including which character is one of my book boyfriends...) Just saying, I am willing to share my favorite characters and will not fight for them unless they are mine, of course! (Jk, we can all share here.)

My first Team Tuesday belongs to my first ever book crush: Maxon Schreave of The Selection Series. *Squealing every time I hear his name!*

My heart belongs to Maxon because:

1. He is such a gracious and kind person. 

     

     Maxon gives so much and does not expect anything given back to him. Although in The Selection  Series, he is always getting hurt by many people especially America. But, he still remains to be the kindest character I ever read about because his main cause in life appears to be always helping people until they are happy. Plus, who gives a house even when that person has broken his heart many times? Maxon.

He gifted America with a photograph of a yellow house that is actually for her family. *Swoons.*

2. He does and says the sweetest things to America.

     
      Even in times of danger and chaos, Maxon still says the sweetest words to America that will just warm your shipper heart. We know his love for America is strong but, do you think he can spare some for me? (I mean for all of us please, Maxon?)

"You're worth it. I don't think you get that. You're worth it to me."

"I'll love you until my very last breath. Every beat of my heart is yours. I don't want to die without you knowing that."

"In those seconds, I was mourning everything I'd lost. How I'd never get to see you walk down an aisle toward me, how I'd never get to see your face in our children, how I'd never get to see streaks of silver in your hair. But, at the same time, I couldn't be bothered. If me dying meant you living" - he did his one-shoulder shrug again - "how could that be anything but good?"  

3. He forgives those who has betrayed him.

    Although many people close to him has betrayed his trust, Maxon doesn't hold a long grudge as other guys may have done. He forgives and forgets all the problems thrown at him.

There are many other reasons as to why Maxon is my number 1 book boyfriend but, if I keep on talking, I feel that I can't stop! He is just... *happily sighs*
